In this article, we are going to learn how to open/launch taskbar pinned applications through the keyboard or shortcut keys?
Most of the people use mouse clicks to open applications which are pinned on the taskbar. We can also launch/open them using keyword commands.
Here, we are going to learn how can we open these applications through shortcut keys?
The shortcut keys to open taskbar pinned application is: “WINDOW KEY + NUMBER“
NUMBER: is the position of the application from left to right just after the start button, consider the below-given image.
Here, “Internet Explorer” is pinned at first position, “Google Chrome” is pinned at the second position and “Microsoft Word” is pinned at the third position and so on…
Now, if you want to open “Internet Explorer”, which is pinned at first position. We can launch/open it by pressing “Window key + 1”.
Similarly, open can also be opened through the combination of “Window key and Application’s position number”.
Can we define any favorite number to an application?
Let suppose if you want to open “Microsoft word” on the shortcut key “Window key +1”, you cannot directly assign it to the application.
But, the thing that you can do – Drag the “Microsoft Word” application from right to left and fix it on position 1.

“Microsoft Word” is dragged to the first position now and it can be opened by pressing “Window key +1”. Similarly, any application can be pinned on the taskbar and opened by your favorite key with “Window key”
